Mat Care Guide

Thanks for bringing a Tapi mat into your space. It's hand-poured from food-grade platinum silicone — non-porous, durable, and built to last for years with very little effort. Here's how to keep it looking its best.

Everyday cleaning

• Wipe down with warm water and a little mild dish soap after use.
• Use a soft cloth or sponge — the smooth surface releases most spills on its own.
• Rinse and air dry. No special products needed.

Washing

Hand-washing in the sink is the gentlest option and all your mat really needs. If you'd like to use the dishwasher, place the mat on the top rack, use a mild detergent, and — this part matters — turn off the heated-dry cycle. The high-heat dry can leave small spots on silicone where water droplets bake on. Let the mat air dry instead.

Stubborn spots

• First, soak in warm soapy water for 10–15 minutes, then wipe — this lifts most residue on its own.
• Skip abrasive scouring pads and steel wool — they can dull the surface over time.

Drying and storage

• Air dry flat, or pat dry with a towel.
• Storing it away? Roll it, don't fold it — folding can leave temporary creases.
• Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, which helps protect the color over the long run.

A few things to avoid

• Cutting directly on the mat with sharp knives.
• Bleach and harsh solvents.
• Prolonged contact with very high heat, like a pan straight off the burner.
